AMERICAN CLASSIC : Wino

The entire Cholo aesthetic comes from Kmart. There is several in the East Los Angeles area, but I'm not sure who defined whom. You can buy everything from Fruit of the Loom wife beaters and striped knee high socks to corduroy slippers and Dickies, but nothing is a greater obsession than the Wino. Kmart sells the Anchor Bay slip on for 9.99. I now where Zig Zag's lace up version that you can get at the shoe repair shops in NYC. They charge 20. It's the perfect lightweight summer shoe and when they fall apart you can just toss them out and buy a new pair. Cheap and always in style.
