I love how this discussion of a magazine that's intended to free men from these inane classifications and stereotypes begins with you saying, in a backhanded way, that the models from previous issues were inferior because they weren't "true bears".
It seems like a disservice to Schulz' work to put it in that context. It would be one thing for you to say that you think Evan is the most attractive guy Pinups has featured, but it seems backwards to judge him on his "level of bearishness" or whatever, calling into question the status of the other Pinups models in the retarded bear hierarchy.
I don't think there was anything backhanded about the comment. It was a simple observation that, despite the common interpretation of the magazine being Bear-specific, this is really the first time the magazine has gotten as close to a traditional Bear-type model. There was no judgment made against previous models.
